Violet Storm

I painted this scene for friends as a Christmas commission. The view was captured on camera from one of their favourite Sydney beaches - looking north from South Curl Curl Beach Pool as a storm approached. I separated the wild clouds and black ocean from the smooth surface of the pool with a band of colour - the chain fence an imaginary line of protection from the sea. The violet burgundy of the painting is a note to Christmas … and Pinot Noir.
