I grew up in Hobart as a young boy. We lived in what seemed like a huge house on a hill along the Channel Highway in Taroona. My strongest memory is waiting for the Sydney to Hobart yachts to round the corner and enter the Derwent River. I can still feel the anticipation and excitement. Today I watch the yachts departing Sydney Harbour from my apartment ... and still get that same feeling as a boy.
