I still have strong memories as a child living in Hobart, Tasmania. Our house on the hill shimmered under a glowing sky from distant fires as the smoky weekend drew to a close. Two days later a third of the state had been wiped out by the devastating "Black Tuesday” bushfires. The house on the hill was one of the survivors.
