Finalist - Paddington Art Prize 2022
I'm thrilled and honoured to be selected as a finalist for the prestigious Paddington Art Prize for Australian inspired landscapes. My entry "Great Exposure (Ideal Cafe/Restaurant)" is a comment on the damaging effect the decisions of a few can have on those with no voice. The construction of Sydney’s light rail shut the centre of the inner city and Surry Hills for longer than expected. Once vibrant restaurants and cafes struggled under construction closures, then by the pandemic restrictions not long after the light rail opened. Some iconic businesses survived, but others didn't fare as well. This bright summer's day tries in vane to revive life into the fading grey building.
